This song was written on June 13th 2016, the day after the slaughter of 50 people at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando. We sarcastically celebrate every person in America who ever treated an LGBTQ person as less than human, because your insistence that we are undeserving of love and happiness leads us into some really dark places, and your devaluation of our lives makes killing us that much easier.

Every baker who refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding, every person who sent hate mail to Target over their bathroom policies, every lawmaker (regardless of party) who stands or ever stood in the way of queer liberation… every one of these people did their part. Each one got us just a little bit closer to the Orlando massacre.

One person is ultimately responsible for the mechanics of the rampage, but he was only able to do so because millions more people implicitly gave their blessing. Millions have blood on their hands.
